HARDWAREOne of the first decisions you will make for a binder is the size of the rings. It determines how many pages a binder can comfortably contain and how wide the binder spine will be. This is how you should measure:
The ring diagrams shown above are those most commonly used -- with the round ring used most of all. remember, the size of the ring determines the width of the spine: i.e. a binder with a 1" ring will have a spine measuring approximately 1 1/2". It is important to know how many pages your binder is required to hold. And, if the number of pages will grow with usage.
